The Chicken Story Project gratefully accepts your contribution.
Submissions will be reviewed by the editor and potentially added to the main story blog.

What to contribute?

Do you have chickens? A barn full of them, or just solitary pet chicken? Do you watch them, take notice of their behavior in the way you might with a dog or cat?

If you do, we at the Chicken Story Project would like to hear your stories.

We’re looking for stories about chickens that show some personality. We’re looking for individuality. We’re looking for stories that reveal that there is more to this barn yard and dinner plate staple than meets the eye. We’re looking for stories that challenge the stereotype of the brainless bird, the egg-laying automaton, the crispy McNugget.

The Chicken Story Project collects stories about chickens, and human interactions with chickens, from around the country. Part celebration of the chicken, part exploration of our relationship with it, and beyond it the natural world, the project ultimately aims to combine the narratives with photos and video to produce a multimedia experience revolving around our feathered friends.

If we like your story we will use it on the website. We will most likely need to copy edit stories and alter length. Payment, alas, is not an option. But glory is abundant.
